Description

Intro
George Orwell was a frequent guest in the 1930s when this was his parents' retirement home... today Montague House is a characterful holiday cottage full of contemporary-style comfort.

Bedrooms and bathrooms
Montague House sleeps up to seven people in four light-filled, cosy bedrooms. All on the first floor, you'll find two double-bedded rooms - both featuring period fireplaces - promising a perfect night's slumber. One of these leads to the single room - though, with additional access via a staircase from the utility room, this doesn't have to be used - and there is also a twin room. A stylish corner bath with shower steals the show in the fully-tiled upstairs bathroom, and for extra convenience there's a spacious shower room on the ground floor.

Cooking and dining
A cheery beach hut-blue and crisp white colour scheme accentuates the dark-wood floor and clever use of space in the kitchen, and a separate utility area features the all-important washing machine and tumble dryer. The dining room continues the property's coastal theme with stripped pine and painted furniture, whilst picture rails and built-in cupboards further hint at the building's history.

Outside
Enjoy food, drinks and family fun in the privacy of your very own walled garden. A spacious patio complete with table and chairs leads on to a lawned area edged by flower borders, whilst St Edmund's Church is glimpsed through the surrounding trees.

Practicalities
Situated at the lower end of the High Street, Montague House is beautifully-placed for a car-free break - park your vehicle nearby as everything is within walking distance! A cot and high chair are available for guests' use.
