Dating back some 300 years and painted in traditional Suffolk black, this delightful period property has been respectfully extended and renovated to provide relaxed living for two couples or a small family.

Bedrooms and bathrooms
Two bedrooms and a bathroom fill the first floor of this quaint and quiet cottage. Stripped pine floors and sturdy wooden beds - one double, and two twins - add a note of authenticity and reassuring luxury, whilst the extensively-tiled boutique hotel-style bathroom boasts a screened bath with shower above. On the ground floor a cloakroom ensures convenience at every level.

Cooking and dining
An open plan sitting and dining area is bathed with light thanks to windows at each end, whilst an open fire adds a sense of intimacy to any meal enjoyed at the rustic table, which is complemented by antique pine chairs and a church pew-style bench. In the kitchen, though, everything is ultra-modern, white and bright... with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge freezer, dishwasher and washer dryer, there's everything here that a cook could need.

To the rear of the cottage, a small paved area provides some all-important outdoor sitting space which also provides shared access to neighbouring properties. Accessed through French doors from the sitting room, it is south-facing and accessorised by containers planted for seasonal colour.

Located on one of Southwold's most picturesque and quiet lanes, close to the Common, Black Cottage welcomes one well-behaved pet and offers guests the use of Wi-Fi, Smart TV and iPod dock. Free car parking is available just a short stroll away.
