Description

Intro

Divine views and a family-friendly floorplan make this understated seafront home the perfect choice for discerning guests. Enjoy glimpses of the sea and only the shortest of walks to the water’s edge, or wander just a little further afield to experience the warmest of welcomes in Southwold’s famous inns.

Please note:  This property is considered to be more suited for five people, but the owner is happy for six people to stay if they wish.

Bedrooms and bathrooms

Nod off to sound of seagulls and waves lapping on the sands from a choice of three bedrooms. On the ground floor, a double-bedded room has its own en suite shower room – an ideal combination for those who prefer not to climb stairs, this opens up an opportunity for multi-generational getaways, perhaps. Upstairs, a double-bedded room enjoys splendid views of East Cliff and the sea, while a third bedroom has bunk beds and plenty of play space – children will love sleepovers here! A family bathroom on the first floor features a small bath with hand-held shower and, like the ground floor en suite, a heated towel rail, and towels are provided as part of your holiday price.

Cooking and dining

A light, bright kitchen continues the ground floor’s pastel colour palette and comes complete with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and dining suite. Prepare a picnic or pick up something delicious from one of the local deli counters – the beach is only a minute from the front door!

Outside

The promenade and grassy ‘green’ of East Cliff are right on the doorstep, affording immediate access to the fresh air, sights and sounds of the seafront. Steps close by lead down to the beach – that ambition of a cottage by the sea is attainable, for a holiday at least!

Practicalities

Southwold’s supremely family-friendly, and that warm welcome extends to man’s best friend at Spyglass, where one well-behaved dog will love to join in the holiday fun. Should you tire of the seaviews, there’s WiFi and a Smart TV for further entertainment, and washday chores are catered for thanks to the washing machine and tumble dryer which are cleverly accommodated within the first floor family bathroom. The former fireplaces are pretty architectural details these days but you’ll stay warm whenever you visit courtesy of the gas central heating, and you should be able to park on the streets close by. Please be aware that, as is traditional in a cottage of this type, the staircase is steep and has some head-height restrictions – the ground floor bedroom and its en suite should alleviate this worry from those with mobility concerns.
