Cottage style is refined in this family-friendly holiday home where honeyed tones, exposed beams and a stunning inglenook fireplace are complemented by every modern convenience and a surprisingly spacious, fully-enclosed garden. Utterly charming and refurbished with guests’ comfort front-of-mind, it’s a haven of calm close to the centre of town. This delightful cottage now has an extra appeal for the golf enthusiast as it is now a member of Southwold Golf Club. This means the first player plays for free and the second player pays only 50%!!

Bedrooms and bathrooms

Neutral colours, warm carpets underfoot and a clever use of space define the three first floor bedrooms, all designed to nurture a great night’s sleep. You’ll find a king-size bed in one room and a small double in another, while the third contains bunk beds ideally-sized for children. There’s a cloakroom with wc, washbasin and dressing table on this floor, while downstairs you’ll find further facilities – here, a bathroom complete with bath and hand-held shower leads onto a shower room on one side and, to the other, a utility room.

Cooking and dining

The kitchen and dining space here turns traditional cottage styling on its head – the addition of skylights and French doors fills these rooms at the rear of the property with natural light! The cosiness, warm wooden floors and comfortable furnishings of the sitting room continue into the dining area, while beyond the country-themed kitchen cabinets and counters there’s a glorious glimpse of the garden, where a barbecue area is the go-to area for al fresco feasts. All the essentials of daily living are found within the kitchen, including an electric oven and five-ring gas hob, fridge, dishwasher and microwave; the freezer is in the utility room close by.

Fully enclosed and recently landscaped, the rear garden at George Green’s Cottage is deceptively spacious. Laid to lawn and with some mature planting for seasonal colour, it includes a lovely patio with oak furniture and a separate barbecue area with complementary corner seating. If you’re visiting during the summer months, you’ll also love spreading out into the stunning summerhouse – with comfortable seating inside it really does offer the best of all worlds!

Gas central heating keeps this charming cottage cosy all year, and bedlinen and towels are provided for your packing convenience. If you’re travelling with young children a travel cot and highchair are available, and there’s WiFi, a Smart TV and DVD player for everyone’s entertainment. No-one wants to think about chores when they’re away, but the utility room houses a washing machine should you need it, and the entrance lobby area is ideal for storing boots, brollies and other outdoor necessities. On-street parking is available nearby – the town, seafront and Common are all within walking distance.

Great property for a young family. Everything we needed with a lovely garden, which was much bigger than expected. Location was great. Standard of furnishings was excellent too.

Mr Benjamin B,

Very nice property. Awesome welcome pack, thank you!
